그 궁금증을 풀어주는 책이 나왔다.
임현우 농민신문 기자가 전남대학교 친환경농업연구소 전현직 교수진과 공동으로‘ 대박농사 꿈은 이루어진다’의 영어번역본인 ‘MegaprofitFarming Dream comes true’를 출간해 관심을 끌고 있다. 제1부 이론편은 젤라틴·키틴분해 미생물농법을 자세히 소개했다. 제2부 사례편은 젤라틴·키틴분해 미생물농법을 활용해 억대부농 반열에 오른 농가들과 지역농협과 해외 적용사례를 정리했다. 부록 제1부, 제2부, 제3부는 젤라틴·키틴분해 미생물농법에 관한 실험결과와 연구논문과 사진을 수록했다.
이 책은 농업선진국인 미국과 일본을 비롯해 동남아시아 지역에 수출될 예정이다. 특히 베트남·캄포디아 대학 등에 농업교재로 보급될 수 있도록 논의가 진행 중이다. 또 영어를 공부하는 농업고·농업대학교 학생 뿐만아니라 일반인들이 영어실력을 배양하는 데 큰 도움을 줄 것으로 기대된다.
이 책에 따르면 미생물농법은 농업인이나 소비자가 모두 동경하는 이상형과 같은 농사방법이지만 실패하기 쉬운 농법이기도 하다. 이런 어려움을 해결한 것이 바로 젤라틴·키틴분해 미생물이다. 값이 싸고 효과가 크다는 장점이 있다. 특히 농가가 쉽게 자가배양할 수 있기 때문에 농장에 미생물 제조공장을 차린 것과 같아서 기존 미생물제제의 단점들을 대부분 극복할 수 있다.
만화를 접목한 신개념 영농서적으로 주목을 받은 이 책은 올 3월 3일 출간된 이후 9월 30일 7쇄가 인쇄되는 등 농업인들에게‘ 소득을 올려주는 책’으로 선풍적인 인기를 끌고 있다. 또 농업마이스터대학, 농업기술센터, 지역농협 작목반 농업교재로 공급되기도 했다. 이와 함께 국내 최대 농업전문 월간
지인‘ 디지털농업’의 영농만화 소재로도 사용돼 화제가 되고 있다.
출판시장이 극심한 불황에 허덕이고 있는 데다 수요가 극히 한정된 영농서적이 폭발적인 인기를 끈것은 유례를 찾아보기 힘들다는 게 출판업계의 반응이다.

The book came out to answer the question especially in agricultural field. Lim Hyeon-woo senior reporter of the Farmers Newspaper and current and former faculty members of Chonnam National University’s Environment-friendly Agriculture Research Institute published a English version of ‘Megaprofit Farming Dream comes true’.
The Part I is written about theories of GCM (Gelatin-Chitin disintegrating microorganism) Farming Method. It could be a good guideline like a extbook to the numerous farmers who would like to do farming with microorganisms. The Part II is written about the case studies on the fields, 12 excellent leaders of GCM farming. Appendix Part I, II, III are recorded about studies and the results and pictures of GCMs.
This book is expected to be exported to Southeast Asia including agriculture developed countries such as US and Japan. In particular, we are negotiating with university members in Vietnam and Cambodia to export them as textbook for agricultural college students. In addition, this book could be very helpful for students to study English.
Farming method by microorganisms is like an ideal type that both farmers and consumers have had a longing for. The method is, however, also failure prone. It is true that the nature has so many microorganisms that the microorganism products of the market, if diluted 500 or 1,000 times with water, could lose in the competition with indigenous microorganisms, leading to disappointment. The GCM farming method is the one that could solve this problem.
A farming book with a new concept of inserting a lot of cartoons has become hugely popular as ‘a book that raises farmers' income’. Many organizations have made bulk orders of the book consistently to use it as a text book. For example, bulk orders have been made by Local Agricultural Cooperatives to use the book as a text book for their production teams, by Agricultural Technology Service Centers for farmers’ education, and by Agricultural Meister Colleges for their students, to name a few. Especially, this book's GCM farming method areused as a comic strip story of the nation's largest agriculture-related monthly magazine named ‘Digital Farming.’
